Acrilex, Inc. stocks a wide variety of PVC sheets in a large range of thickness and colors. PVC is available in forms such as Foam (Expanded), Solid, Embossed, and Aluminum clad. Some of the benefits of PVC include, Flame Retardance, impact resistance, ease of fabrication, rigidity, moisture resistance, and excellent outdoor weatherability.
Applications include: POP Displays, Advertising signage, outdoor signage, Construction, fixtures, marine applications, and for components in OEM manufacturing.
Foam PVC (Expanded PVC)
Foam sheets made of rigid PVC are produced with a closed-cell matt surface. Expanded PVC sheets have a regular, fine-celled foam structure and are light in weight. They conduct very little heat and thus provide excellent insulation. Expanded PVC is suitable for printing, painting and lacquering and can be easily and economically worked with conventional tools. Due to their tough and rigid structure, they can be drilled and screwed without splitting. Due to their weathering resistance, foam PVC sheets in white can be used for outdoor applications. They are particularly suitable for the advertising industry-for signs, displays and exhibition stands. Expanded PVC sheets have been approved for the "low flammability" class according to UL94 - V0. The advantageous size means that waste is kept to a minimum.
Solid PVC
Solid PVC sheets offer many of the benefits of Foam PVC but also offer greater stiffness, impact resistance, and rigidity. Solid PVC will not crush as readily as foam PVC, and offers even greater flame retardance. Better suited for outdoor and structural requirements than Foam PVC, it may also be painted and stained similarly to Foam PVC.
Embossed PVC & Aluminum Clad PVC
Embossed PVC & Aluminum Clad PVC are newer products which have been designed for better aethetics, increased performance, and with a greater utility for architectural applications. PVC which has been embossed to look like wood, can be painted and stained, but will resist the elements and insects far better than wood. Aluminum Clad PVC combines baked on enamel for ease of decoration with light weight and tremendous structural intergrity. Both are easily fabricated using standard woodworking tools.
